Faustina Junior, Augusta, 147-175. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.99 g, 7 h), Rome, circa 147-150. FAVSTINAE AVG PII AVG FIL Draped bust of Faustina II to right, her hair bound with pearls. Rev. VENVS Venus standing front, head to left, holding apple in her right hand and rudder entwined with dolphin in her left. BMC 1067. Cohen 266. RIC 517a. A beautifully toned example with a lovely portrait. Extremely fine.

From the collection of a retired senior air force officer, ex Rauch 99, 8 December 2015, 153, previously purchased from Aufhäuser in 1989 and from the collection of E. Beckenbauer.
